Icarian
In Icarian, the story of Icarus symbolizes overconsumption and fast fashion. The series portrays the character’s transitional phase between dystopia and utopia, as they attempt to float between land and sea to maintain balance. Fashion and the dancer's body is used as a sculpture: the outfit is made from umbrella fabric, with the wing-like silhouette visualizing a connection to the myth of Icarus. If we keep on flying on the wings of fast fashion, we will inevitably crash in the ocean and the remaining materials will melt. Therefore, the sollution is sustainable fashion, where the sea meets the land.
