White Swan
Maxime Hons explores through her visuals how a dancer can experience personal freedom within their own body. It aims to focus on how you can feel closer to yourself and therefore gain more confidence. Inspired by the film Black Swan, she aims to reverse this reference into something positive by reinterpreting the color schemes and the symbolism of a swan.
Black symbolizes the dancer holding herself back and feeling insecure in her own body, red represents the transitional phase in which she begins to break free, and white stands for liberation. The body struggles against the elements of nature, but eventually, they become one, allowing the dancer to reach ultimate freedom.
